caza feliz: día uno
This year I’m taking the 30 days of Gratitude challenge again because I want to chronicle the tiny things that make living in Spain so strange, enchanting, challenging, curious or unfathomable; the small bits that might otherwise be forgotten. And on the days that I trip on the cobbles in front of the school at pick-up, have an incomprehensible parent-teacher conference, and drop a dozen eggs at the corner store, it’s necessary to hunt happiness.
So here we go. Hunting happiness in Spain. Starting with, of course, wine.
I’m sorry… I know it’s nothing profound… but… people: The wine here is so good. And it’s so cheap. And did I mention that it is so good? We spend an average of $3 for a fantastic bottle, which means that we take the doctors’ recommendations for a glass a day very seriously.
Also? I find I speak better Spanish after a bit of Rioja. Soju had the same affect on my Korean.
Wine! I can’t wait to sample the Rioja with you when we visit. Miss you so much!
Nice!
